The New York Continuo Collective is an ongoing workshop and performance organization dedicated to exploring the rhetoric, techniques, and gestural language of 17th Century music and opera. The artistic director is Grant Herreid, Executive Director is Anthony Elitcher, continuo coaches are Pat O'Brien and Charles Weaver. Paul Shipper is the current vocal coach and Stage Director.

Ex Umbris specializes in the rediscovery of renaissance improvisation, poetic narration and unbridled music making. Ex Umbris has appeared at numerous festivals in the U.S, Mexico, and Europe, and can also be heard on the soundtrack of several notable PBS mini-series, renaissance art videos, and the Showtime hit series, "The Tudors". Their Cds on Dorian Records, Windham Hill compilations, and PBS Cds can be found at most leading online music sites including Amazon.com, Goldbergweb.com and Rhapsody.com. Paul is one of the co-founders along with Grant Herreid and Tom Zajac.

Apollo's Fire is Cleveland's baroque orchestra, and one of that city's leading flexible chamber ensembles specializing in early music. Directed by Jeanette Sorrell, Paul has been singing and playing lutes and guitars with them since 2004. He is the bass soloist on their acclaimed Praetorius Christmas Vespers CD and will appear on their upcoming Early American CD, to be recorded in 2009.

Artek is a New York ensemble directed by Gwen Toth, specializing in early baroque music. Paul was a member through 2007; as bass vocal soloist, continuo guitar and lutenist, recorder player and percussionist he concertized and recorded with them for over a decade. He still occasionally makes a guest appearance.

Germany's leading early music festival in Bavaria is an annual event about an hour outside of Munich. Directors Ludwig Hartmann and Stephan Schmidt bring in groups from everywhere for a four day festival in the old city section of Regensburg with fantastic venues, four concerts a day, and a comprehensive exhibition of instrument makers, retailers, and facsimile and sheet music dealers. Great beer too!

Juneau Lyric Opera Company is one of two opera companies in Juneau, Alaska, along with Opera To Go. Having previously sung in their productions of 'The Barber of Seville' (Don Basilio), and 'Tosca' (Sacristano), Paul will be the stage director and sing Antonio, the drunken gardner in 'The Marriage of Figaro'. Their productions are in the original language with English supertitles. Todd Hunt is the excellent conductor.
Todd lives in Juneau full time and serves as music director for both the Juneau Lyric Opera Company and Opera to Go. He also serves as the Resident Conductor of the Juneau Symphony as well as their Chorus Master.
